5 years ago I helped my rescuer Melisa in South Korea, empty 2 dog meat farms, over 100 puppies and some adult breeding moms. Most of those dogs ended up here in Oregon in loving homes, including 5 of them at my house. All the pups got their flight home, yet one remained with no fault of her own or reason why.I tried with all my might to find her a home,an adopter, she sat patiently in the rescue for nearly 3 years without an ounce of adoption interest, until I couldn’t take it anymore.I put her on a plane and she became my Velvet. It will soon be 2 years since she arrived and hardly a day goes by that I don’t hold her and apologize that I made her wait so long.A special bond exists between myself and my dogs…..none of them are supposed to be alive and so many of them have kept me alive,it’s that simplistic and pure. The miracle of rescue.

Velvet, tosa mix saved from the dog meat trade of South Korea.Velvet, one of hundreds of puppies I helped save from 2 large meat farms in South Korea.Amazingly homes for found for all pups, except for Velvet.By no fault of her own she sat in the rescue in South Korea for nearly 3 years waiting.I tried endlessly to find a home for her and eventually flew her here where she now flourishes with me.Rescued 6/19.
